I have 2 Samoyeds and I will drive 50 mins to get them groomed by Kate. The dogs love her and she is so gentle. Their groom requires a lot of patience and skill to keep their undercoat mat free and Kate does such a brilliant job. I always look forward to them having their groom here because they smell soo good and their coat is luscious

We had the most amazing experience with Kate and Emma at Freshwater Paws! They recently groomed our 15-week-old golden retriever puppy, Dorothy, and we couldn’t be more impressed.
Dorothy is a confident and excitable pup who definitely made the task a tricky one, but Kate and Emma were incredibly kind, patient, and calm throughout the whole process. It was her very first groom, and they guided her, and us, through it so gently and positively. She came out looking absolutely adorable and so happy—it’s clear she felt safe and cared for. We’re so grateful to have found such a fabulous team. Freshwater Paws is a true gem. Highly recommend!

We have been sending our dog to Kate since we brought her home from the breeder. Once I realised how full on the grooming reqs were, I found Kate, and she explained their ethos to me re introducing regular grooming from an early age, to reduce stress/anxiety with irregular visits.
I never thought I’d spend the money I do on a dog (and it’s coat), but my dog is not just a ‘dog’ she is a member of our family, and a constant source of joy.
It breaks my heart to see ppl comment negatively on this business and the amazing ladies who run it, because I know that Kate and Emma are (literally) a dogs best friend, and would only ever do what is right for THE DOG. They treat each dog, like they do their own.
I also want to highlight that they noticed an infection on my dog, that I had NO IDEA about, which required immediate attention (and I cuddle/sleep with my dog daily). I still feel guilty i hadn’t noticed.
If you love your dog, and care about what they experience when you’re not around, this is the place for them. Kate and Emma will ALWAYS put the dog’s experience over the owners desires (always communicated prior), IF it is in the best interest of the dog. Eg I have requested different grooms over the years, but i have also understood that the lack of upkeep on my part, was the reason they weren’t able to do the ‘Teddy bear’ groom.
